Conclusion

Our primary goal for the semester was to investigate how Home Depot DFC uses its information system to support its low-cost leadership and industry-wide business strategy. We examined the company's industry using Porter's five forces to gain more insight into its threat management approach. The value chain and how it enhances operational effectiveness and efficiency, as well as the significance of aligning the IS with the business plan, were then discussed.  Our team gained knowledge about the industry's actual use of MIS and how the business incorporates it into day-to-day operations during this journey. Home Depot is highly equipped to adapt to changes regarding information systems, and as a group, we have all learned how it works internally and externally as well. From the beginning, many of us did not know how successful the company is and how it is a top competitor for many successful rivals. They have been around long enough to gain the respect and attention of vendors and customers. Although  Home Depot is very successful, like any other corporation there are areas for improvement that can help with their future growth. Throughout the semester we’ve been able to notice these areas for improvements and compile recommendations as previously mentioned. Overall, Home Depot has continued to conquer any problems that arise and will continue to be seen as a great home improvement retail corporation.
